We had the great pleasure of having Jonathan as our tour guide and driver. We have traveled the world and my wife and I always get tour guides when we travel. This experience was by far the best we’ve ever had. Jonathan is a wealth of knowledge combined with humor and enthusiasm. THE VERY BEST EVER. Thank you !

Thank you so much for taking us along on the Normandy tour. We really learned a lot and found it very inspiring. If you are ever in California, please shoot me an email. If we are back in the area we will contact you for another tour. Thanks again!

We traveled late March and expected miserable weather, and were not disappointed. Our full day tour of the area included the Gold Beach area, Pont du Hoc, Omaha Beach, the Commonwealth and the American Cemetery, and much more. Jonathan was excellent! So knowledgeable and open about the history. We were able to see the hedgerows, which was a particular request of our son. I felt this was a good example of the personal attention we got from this company. We had a great time!

Just a quick note of thanks to you and especially, Jonathan, guide and friend for the day in Normandy. Extremely knowledgeable and most importantly our kids, ages 14 to 23, were able to connect with him on a personal level with his love of history, food, music and travel. Thanks again and please pass on our thanks to Jonathan and be sure to tell him I'm heading out to the grocery store this afternoon to look for a wheel of Camembert de Nordmandie to throw on the grill!

Jonathan was a great tour guide. Every stop and in between was filled with history and anecdotes of the area. I am only sorry I am not staying another day in the area. This is the only tour I have booked in our 3 week adventure here and it was spot

My sister and I booked a Canadian War Sites tour in Normandy through Normandy Sightseeing Tours and we couldn't be more happy that we did it! It was so nice to get a guided tour of these sites as a guide is able to provide so much more info, background, insight, etc. as opposed to just visiting these sites on your own. I highly recommend it! Our tour was a full-day tour and Jonathan, was amazing! He was so friendly and extremely knowledgeable. He was born and raised in the area (Bayeux) so his knowledge of the area was very broad and authentic - something we really appreciated! Everything was on-time with the tour, and we also loved how it was a very small group of us as it made the tour much more personal and very easy to communicate with our guide, ask questions, etc. Our guide took us to more sites than I expected which was a bonus! He was able to answer all of our war-related questions and gave us alot of info as we visited each site. He was also able to recommend other sites in the area to visit during our stay, which was nice! Our guide also took us to a wonderful seaside cafe for lunch during the tour - food was delicious! If you are visiting Normandy and want a thorough full-day tour of the main Canadian war sites in the area, I would HIGHLY recommend this company! It was definitely a major highlight of our entire trip! Huge thanks to our awesome guide, Jonathan!!

My wife and I took a half day tour with Normandy Tours specific to the Canadian participation in D-Day. We toured the Juno Beach area, the Juno Beach Centre, one of the Canadian cemeteries and other points of interest. Our guide Jonathan picked us up as scheduled for 9:00 at the Churchill Hotel. We thought our guide Jonathan was excellent both in his presentations at each stop and his knowledge of the area in general, being a local resident. It was obvious by the thickness of his binder of photos and maps that he was keenly interested in Canada's involvement in the landing and had spent a lot of time researching for background information. For people taking the tour, the visit to the Juno Beach Centre was most informative and a must stop. Price of admission to the Centre was included. Our tour lasted about 8.5 hours and was included a little bit of a cross country drive with Jonathan showing us some of the local non WWII sites as well. Bayeux by the way is a really nice play to stay and the drive to Juno takes about 20 minutes.

We contacted Normandy Sightseeing Tours to book a day trip from Bayeux to Mont Saint Michel. Our dealings were done via the internet and were handled efficiently and attentively. We were asked to place a deposit to secure our booking, which we did via a credit card. Our guide for the day was Jonathan. He arrived at our hotel promptly and had us on our way with no hassles. Throughout the drive, Jonathan was friendly and informative. He kept us engaged and we had a pleasant drive to the Abbey. Once there, Jonathan provided insight into the history of Mount Saint Michael and its unique location and structure. We had plenty of time to explore the church and the town.
On the back to Bayeux, we had more time to talk and visit. We really enjoyed visiting with Jonathan and discussing his home region. He is a very knowledgeable guide especially on the D-Day landing beaches and a friendly man. He was accommodating to our group and provided a fun and enjoyable afternoon. It was just by chance that we selected Normandy Sightseeing Tours and it was just by chance that Jonathan was assigned as our tour guide. But, what a lucky chance it was for our group! Our tour and our day was made memorable with Jonathan as our guide. We can highly recommend him and would suggest that you request him when booking a tour through NST. Merci, Jonathan, for a great Sunday in Normandy!

My wife, mother, and I took a full-day tour with Jonathan. We could not have asked for a better tour guide. He was friendly, enthusiastic, and extremely knowledgeable. Luckily for us, we were the only three signed up for the tour that morning so we had Jonathan to ourselves. He took us to a German cemetery, St. Mère Eglise, Utah Beach, Omaha Beach, Pointe du Hoc, and the American cemetery. He also took us to lunch at a nice unassuming restaurant where real French people eat! At the end of the day, I asked if we could stop by the British cemetery in Bayeux and Jonathan generously complied. Throughout the day Jonathan was also solicitous of my 77-year-old mother, whose brother (my uncle) landed on D-Day but who couldn't handle all of the cold wind and walking as well as the rest of us could. He went out of his way to make her comfortable. I can't recommend the tour or the tour guide highly enough! I'm hoping to take students from my university on a Study Abroad trip to France and I'd love to link up with Jonathan again as our tour guide!

Jonathan Dale went to school many years learning his craft in order to give us the profound experience we enjoyed. I would urge anyone reading this review to either look up this fellow or be sure to use one of the licensed guides available. Many tours out of Paris are not officially licensed by the French government and do not have the education to give a visiting countryman of an Allied country the experience they (you) deserve. Our fellow, Jonathan was extraordinary. His highly accented english was very understandable for our group from Kentucky who spoke no other language (than redneck). He provided many facts that we felt we should have known and then some. Be sure to ask him what the acronym "golf" stands for. There is one other acronym that he shared with us that I will let you, dear reader find out for yourself. What sets one well educated guide from another is enthusiasm. Jonothan exhibited a great amount of zeal on his subject which provided us with probably the finest tour available.

We absolutely loved our day with Jonathan touring Giverny, Rouen and Honfleur. Such a pleasant day; one which we'll remember with great fondness forever. Touring Monet's home and gardens was one of the biggest highlights of our trip - just unbelievably beautiful. The gardens of stunning flowers and incredible smells make this an incredible visit. Rouen was a beautiful city to see and to have lunch, and Honfleur was a remarkable town to walk around and enjoy. What a delightful day in Normandy. Great guide, comfortable car and lovely day.

This company was excellent. Jonathan picked us up in Caen in a very comfortable car and gave us a lot of historical background on the way to Mont Saint-Michel. He was very knowledgeable and friendly. We also went to see the Bayeaux Tapestry and Cathedral (and we even went briefly to his own apartment in Bayeaux so he could show my husband a particular book about aerial photography in WWI since that was something he was also interested in). On the way back to Caen he took us to a ruined Norman church down a gorgeous little country lane that was way off the tourist trail – just us and a couple of French families enjoying a picnic in the spring sunshine. Apparently he usually does longer tours that include the Normandy Battlefields so his depth of knowledge was very impressive.

Did a tour with NST right after Easter 2015 and was the best tour I've ever been on. Our tour guide was a young Frenchman named Jonathan and he was just terrific. He really knew his stuff and really made you see it. If you go from Paris take the train that only makes one stop in Caen before the last stop in Bayeux. There is a small restaurant directly across from the station on the right so head over for food and drink unless you bring your own. We did a half day tour and had about 45 minutes to spare before Jonathan picked us up in the very comfortable 8 passenger van (including Jonathan). He had us back to the station and time for a nice glass of wine or beer before we got on the train back to Paris (Gare Lazare). A full day and so worth the trip.

I took a tour with several friends....our tour guide was Jonathan. He was very informative, excited, and humorous in his talks. The beaches were made very relevant....he showed key features on the architecture of the gun placements, drew battle positions in the sand, and gave out lots of information nuggets...On top of that he led us to a very non touristy but delicious local restaurant. At the cemetery he had lots of stories about individuals, making it more about the person, than boring statistics. Great day!

Jonathan has a wealth of information at the tip of his tongue. He carried a notebook of maps and pictures to emphasize points and clarify explanations. I was very impressed at how quickly he could locate an individual page. Having read about the Normandy invasion for the past 40 years, I had some pretty specific questions and he was able to answer most and went out of his way to show me an example of the famous hedgerow country our troops struggled through after breaking out of the Normandy beaches,
I highly recommend Jonathan as your guide.

We highly recommend Jonathan D. of NST as a exceptional driver and guide for Americans touring these most memorable and historic sites. Jonathan met us in Paris and drove/guided us on a four-day tour beyond our expectations from Giverny to all of the Normandy sites (and to some most visitors would not see, if it were not for Jonathan being born and raised in Bayeaux). He took us on to Mont St. Michel and then back to Paris. His cheerfulness, insights, and flexibility were espceially appreciated. (And Oh, did I mention his "homemade" scrap book of photos from the war that took us right back to the day of the battles?) Jonathan made our tour for two adult couples just the best.

We are an American family with two teenage boys had a wonderful day with our guide Jonathan Dale who picked us up from the Bayeux train station in a mini-bus for a private tour of the German Cemetery (which we recommend as contrast to American Cemetery), Pointe du Hoc, Omaha Beach and the American Cemetery.
Jonathan is a young man but was very knowledgable and passionate about his subject, and as a native of Normandy could relate his family's history under the Nazi occupation.
His lunch recommendation at La Sapienere near Omaha beach was perfect for a family meal (don't skip the Normandy cider) and he joined us, allowing for a leisurely conversation about all that we had seen and were going to see.
There was enough time at end of tour, when he drove us back to Bayeux for return train to Paris, to go into the cathedral and even to see the famous tapestry (there is English audio-guide of about 20 minute duration that is quite good).
We booked the tour via email and Delphine in the office of Normandy Sightseeing advised us well on what trains to take to and from Paris and how to manage the day.
Of course with any touring company the guide you get makes a huge impact. Especially if you are a family we recommend Jonathan.

My Husband and I did a full day Normandy Sightseeing Tour with Jonathan as our guide on September 7, 2012. It was terrific and I can’t speak highly enough about Jonathan. He was so enthusiastic, informative, and genuinely interested in sharing his knowledge with our group. He really went the extra mile to ensure that our group got the most out of the tour.
I’m indebted to Jonathan for taking a personal interest in helping me to learn more about the Division my father was in during his service in Normandy. He directed me to an interactive exhibit at the Visitor Center at our final stop at the Normandy American Cemetery and Memorial. On my own, I probably would have missed this. I was thrilled to be able hear audio details about my father’s Division (30th Infantry Division). We were so awed and impressed with the Cemetery and Visitor Center, we returned the next day to spend more time there.
The day spent in Normandy will forever hold a special place in my heart and truly, this tour was one of the highlights of our trip to France. Jonathan picked us up at our hotel in Bayeaux and we started the tour at the German Cemetery not far away. We enjoyed a full day traveling to the various historic locations: Point du Hoc, Utah Beach, Omaha Beach, St Mere Eglise and the Airborne Museum there. If you take this tour be sure to see the film, “The Longest Day.” It was actually filmed on location in Normandy in the early 1960s.
The finale of this tour was visiting the Normandy American Cemetery with its row upon row of white crosses and stars of David. The scene is incredibly moving and sacred. I will never forget that snapshot in my mind of how the beautiful beach looks now and how it must have looked on June 6, 1944.

The half day Normandy D-Day tour with Jonathan was excellent. He was enthusiastic and knowledgable and spoke good English. We visited all of the major sights and Jonathan provided very good background information at each one. We thoroughly enjoyed the trip. Highly recommended!

In May 2012, I toured the beaches and cemeteries of Normandy, St. Mare Eglise, and the surrounding countryside through Normandy Sightseeing Tours. Our tour guide, Jonathan, arrived right on time at the Hotel Churchill in Bayeux and was a gracious guide throughout the day. He was very attentive to the group's wants and needs, and knowledgable of the history of the region. He offered several recommendations for lunch and the group choice was excellent. We were given plenty of time to tour the various sites and he remained with us throughout the day, sharing history and offering whatever assistance we needed. He clearly conveyed the gratitude that the French still have for the American servicemen who sacrificed their lives for his country in WWII, and thus made the day even more memorable. He was even so kind as to give me an extra ride to the train station so I could buy a ticket for an early departure the following day. Thank you Jonathan for a day I will always remember. I highly recommend his tour.
